What started as a blog to record the progress of my camper redo, has become more of a journal of sorts.

The mind of Shellee, aka Sommy, aka Bubba, aka Swannie Bob, is not an organized, neat little space. It is, however fun and full of totally bizarre and sometimes illogical thoughts.
.

Beginning posts will reflect that remodel journey, but transform into an outlet for my rambling mind to unload.

I reserve the right to do a little venting, rambling, bragging, griping, etc. at anytime on issues other than the Hag Wagon! Hope you enjoy!

Oh yeah...leave me a comment. Let me know what you think and any ideas or suggestions!

Paint day!!

Its been a long day of glamper revamping. But a very productive one!

I started sort of early this morning. 10:00ish? That's early for a weekend, right?

Worked on MORE patching, and MORE sanding. Dicky promised me we could get painted this weekend, and I was determined not to be the cause of us not getting to it. Sooooo, I worked my tail off til around 10:30 or so (Don't judge! It's not the amount of time, it's the amount of work that counts!)

Anyway, so Dicky calls me in for breakfast. (Yes, breakfast. Quit interrupting, I've got a cool story going here.) And as I'm eating, my mom calls.

"We're going to Lubbock. Do y'all need anything?" she so kindly asks. ( Have I mentioned how much I love my momma! AND my daddy too!)

Well, Dicky had taken down a rotted 1x4 from the ceiling. (To all you non-carpenters, that's a board.) We found and "old but good" one in the yard he said would work,  but as I'm talking to Mother, Dicky decides he needs new ones, not the old one we just five minutes before determined would work. And any one who knows our history knows we could haul a refrigerator, two cords of wood, and a bedroom suit home from Lubbock on a unicycle, so of course he thinks there's no reason my parents can't bring home two 1"x4"x6' boards in their car. (Just last year we toted five sycamore trees home in my Nissan Altima coup. Look em up, they are not large cars. You'll be impressed.)

I ignored him. "No, thanks! We have what we need here."

This is where it get awesome! I mean REALLY awesome!

I look up and glance past him and leaning on the wall, in OUR living room....
Do you see it???

No JOKE! I kid you not! There was a 6ft 1x4 brand new! Neither of us know where it came from, remember buying it, and most certainly don't remember bringing it in the house!

So maybe you aren't impressed. But we were! It was pretty weird and great all at once! (I'm easily amused, obviously.)

I told him that goes to show, "God WANTS me to work on my camper today!!"  (And HE wanted Dicky to help!!)

Dicky disagreed with my theory, but he certainly got up off his duff and came to help me!!

A couple of "before" pictures...with many, many patches.

I would have taken a few pictures of myself hard at work, but...
..and Dicky didn't offer. So it actually looks like he's doing all the work. Sneaky little bugger, I think he planned it that way. But don't bee fooled, my friends! I'm a hard working gal!

Here's the camera hog getting his paint on!

I think I'll interrupt this update now to give a shout out to my sweet friend, Thressa Baker! She made me the cutest towel for the wagon! I can't wait to hang it up!

I'm in love!

Another shout out to my super duper mother-in-law, Marie! She finished the cushions, but you don't get a peek at those until I get them in the camper.

OK...back to the update... Still some touch up to do, trim and such. Knobs purchased and need to be put on. And you can't see it in the pics, but the drawers had the coolest trim that I painted bright red, and need to put back on. But major interior painting is DONE!

My camera on my phone is taking kind of dark pics today. I'll brighten up the next ones, but I'm so HAPPY! And all kidding aside, my babe is the BOMB DIGGITY! Thank you, Honey!

I'm hoping for electricity and windows soon!!(This week, Babe? Pretty please?)  We aren't fast, but we're getting there!

Week Gone

Where did the week go? I just knew I would get this little sweetie almost finished this week while I'm off. Hasn't quite seemed to work out that way.

Hopefully we can get the inside painted before Monday. (Dicky willing!) My sweet mother in law saved me from the tangle of fabric I bought.

Here are my patterns I started sewing and hit a wall of "what now" pretty quickly. Marie came to give me some guidance and wound up taking it all home with her! I think she knew it was a lost cause otherwise.

She's been a busy busy bee!! Love her bunches!!

I was ready for some painting. But Dicky seems to think I'm getting in too big a hurry and insists that I sand and patch the holes.

Almost a little crack-a-lackin showing.

Me and my "POS" sander, that out sanded his!

So now I'm thinking about the outside. I know we are a bit away, but I really like this design. Minus all the writing, and maybe yellow where the black is, with black borders. What ya think?

AND!!!...Finally got in my favorite piece of artwork for the wagon! I was going to go all retro, but decided if it makes me happy, and makes me smile, it's gonna fit! And she makes me smile! Looking for a frame and the perfect place to hang her!

Got some doing done this weekend! Not as much as I would have liked, but you know...sometimes a girl just needs a nap. Also, I had several nameplate orders to make. Hope to get completely caught up on those tomorrow.

AND!! I got to see my precious grandbelly and her parents!

Oh yeah...I spent a good 30 minutes or so of the weekend perfecting this video clip...I came home from work Friday and caught part of the Trisha show. "Did my Mother Ruin my Life?" was the episode, and these girls were pretty serious about how their momma had ruined theirs. But how they kept a straight face as their momma made some of her comments, I'll never know. I was crackin' up sitting there all by myself...

Oh my! Now I'm laughing again! YO MOMMA DID!

Anyhooo...
Got most of the dirt and dust cleaned up. It was mighty dusty!

Dicky got the front awning opened and old bench tops removed. We have new ones cut, but he seemed to think he wanted to relax a little this weekend, too. So we didn't get them put in. Tomorrow is MY plan, but I'm not a very good nailer, so I'm kind of at his mercy. (Yes, I know nailer is not the proper term. I've been told plenty of times. However, I am an excellent hammerer, as long as I don't have to hit a nail. Therefore, I think it is the nailing I am bad at.)

Isn't this the cutest little awning you've ever seen?
Yeah, me neither, but it will be soon!

I found paint and the perfect material for my cushions. I'll post pictures in my next post, when I get started on them. Maybe that'll be tomorrow. :)

One more pic. You may have seen my post on FB looking for a square screwdriver thing. But after I looked at the picture, I thought it was pretty neat. For what, I don't know. But I liked it! LOL

Did I mention the metallic stars stuck on Everything?

Wasted enough of both of our time tonight with not much of an update. So until next time...Toodleloo!

Decisions, decisions!

I need advice! On my way for paint, but now I'm conflicted!! Which idea do you like better?
Yellow, turquoise and a tiny bit of white. (Walls are what I'm working on)

Turquoise with off white...
Or white with turquoise?

My first post!! It's kind of exciting!

I'm off work for Spring Break and I have so many projects rolling around in my mind. First and foremost...MY CAMPER!!!

Ain't she a beauty? Yeah...me too...but I'm talking about the camper.

I guess I should start with a little history. I'd been telling Dicky how cool it would be to have a little camper in the back yard to fix up and have as a "girl cave". (Except I think I've lived with Dicky too long, because the term "girl cave", in keeping with a man's right to his "man cave" just sounds dirty. Or at least it will as soon as any man gets ahold of the name. Or at least it will as soon as any of my tribe's men get ahold of the name. We are just a little bit crude and uncivilized, at times.)(Let the previous side note be my first disclaimer and warning to anyone that might read this...Given our "little bit crude and uncivilized" nature, you may find some comments a little bit crude and uncivilized. If you are easily offended, you might want to stop reading now and just look at the pictures.) (Side note #3...if you fall into the aforementioned category, you probably shouldn't look at the pictures either!)

Ugh...Ok, I'm already rambling...

Back to my story. I had been telling Dicky how much I would love to have my own little camper to cutesy up in the back yard. As it happened, the very day I found my little jewel I had again been trying to convince him how cool it would be. I logged onto Facebook, for the fiftieth or so time that morning, and THERE SHE WAS! On the Scurry County Garage Sale page. "Trailer for sale" "Make offer"! Of course two or three others had commented, but the seller had yet to reply, so I commented, then sent a PM to Carmen, my new friend and previous owner. I didn't hear back from her for a while, so I assumed she had already sold it to someone else.

Bailey and Brant were here, but about to head home, so we decided to follow them home to Abilene and check out the Buffalo Gap Trade Days. (They still live in Abilene, but are moving back soon because I'm getting a GRANDBABY!!!)(Just another reason I needed this camper...perfect tea party pad!)

This isn't my grandbaby, or me. I don't have the slightest idea who they are. I'm just imagining it to be the Princess and I!

Well, halfway there, Carmen messaged me back and said I could come look at it. Long story short...she's mine! And we never made it to Buffalo Gap.

As we were getting tires changed and hitched to the truck, two or three other ladies pulled up wanting it. I gave them my very meanest Hagatha evil eye...

BACK OFF, BITCHES!!! SHE'S MINE!!!

Ok...well, I'm typing much more than I have time for, right now. But, that's kind of how this started...I can't wait to see how it comes out! We are going to Lubbock today to get some things to get started.

Lots of Pinterest pins later, I think I've decided on a few specifics...

Turquoise walls, off white cabinets with turquoise accents. Red patterned cushions and accents with some pink and light yellow....OH YEAH! Wait until you see my lawn lounge chair I bought at Canton!

I've got so much to tell you all...I'll get to it, but for now I've got to go get some orders done. (I'll explain later), and get my list of get started supplies.

OH YEAH...wait til you see my chandelier!

Toodles for now!
